Update on Washington County Commission District 1 Re-election!

Update on Washington County Commission District 1 Re-election!

I've had the privilege and very great pleasure of serving Aloha, Beaverton and Cooper Mountain for the past 11 years. In that time I've helped:

Promote Job Growth

WITH strategic County tax investments in Intel and bio-tech leader Genentech, anchoring over 16,000 high paying jobs in this County that pump nearly 17 billion dollars into our local economy every year

Provide Excellent County Governance

WITH prudent budgeting, strong financial reserves, ever-stronger County credit rating and lean staffing

Develop a Top-rated Sheriff Department to Keep Us Safe

WITH strong funding and great appointments at the top, namely Sheriffs Rob Gordon and Pat Garrett who have secured national law enforcement accreditation and run the best Sheriff's Department in Oregon

Address Traffic Congestion Head-on as few Oregon Counties Have

WITH local improvements on SW 185th, 170th, Baseline, Cornelius Pass Road, Hwy. 26, Commuter Rail, and numerous bike and sidewalk projects

Protect Vital Human Services during Hard Times

WITH smart budgeting and programs including our cost-effective "Plan to End Homelessness" in Washington County

Effectively Protecting our County's Water and Green spaces

USING an innovative, cost-effective oversight program for the Tualatin River Basin; and

Making strategic park acquisitions with more coming soon.

Going forward I propose to:

Work with the City of Beaverton and other public and private partners to grow good paying jobs in a re-developing downtown;

On completion of a large, Federally funded "business plan" study, work with the public and private sectors (including Aloha Business Association) to greatly increase job and business opportunities in Aloha and Reedville;

Hammer out an uniform land use approval and building permitting process for all local governments in Washington County for more cost-effective governance and stronger job growth;

Put Aloha's fledgling library on a solid footing, and continue working with local park providers to further improve our area's parks and green spaces.

Your contribution will keep us going forward.

Thank you,

-Dick
